The article is focused on theoretical and experimentalrationale for the use of space data to determine themoisture provision of agricultural landscapes andagricultural plants. The improvement of space remotesensing methods to evaluate plant moisture availabilityis the aim of this research.It was proved the possibility of replacement of satelliteimagery of high spatial resolution on medium spatialresolution which are freely available to determine cropmoisture content at the local level. The mathematicalmodels to determine the moisture content of winterwheat plants by spectral indices were developed basedon the results of experimental field research and satellite(Landsat, MODIS/Terra, RapidEye, SICH-2) data. Themaps of the moisture content in winter wheat plants intest sites by obtained models were constructed usingmodern GIS technology.
