The powder metallurgy technique has been expanding in automobile and other engineering industries.Competitive fabrication cost has led to important innovation in different field of powder metallurgy.Recently, research has been focused on reaching higher performance with low cost.In this study, the microstructure, mechanical properties such as tensile strength, elongation, hardness,density of a low alloy Fe-Cr powder (Astaloy CrA) with different amount of graphite (0.4, 0.6 and 0.8wt. %) and copper (2 and 4 wt.%) has been investigated. Compacted at 700 MPa and sintered at twotemperatures 1100 and 1120 ℃. The microstructure evolution showed that adding copper andgraphite as alloying elements generate a widespread of strength, hardness elongation andmicrostructure.
