Compared to monocrystalline silicon solar cell, the alkaline texturization does not work well on multicrystalline silicon solar cell due to the different grain orientations on the surface. Some new acid isotropic etching process in order to solve this problem is usually based on the mixed acid of HF and HNO_3. In our precious study, a non-HF based acid solution for texturization process is developed. And it is less hazardous compared with HF based solution. The solution we used is consisted of HNO_3 NH_4F and H_2SO_4. In this paper, multicrystalline silicon solar cells have been fabricated using this new texturing method. Additionally, some new processes are combined with this process, including backside passivation and laser fired contact, improving efficiency by up to 16.5%.
