LEAD FREE SILVER ALUMINIUM PASTE FOR CRYSTALLINE SILICON SOLAR CELLS

Silver - aluminium pastes are widely used in crystalline silicon solar cells processing (in combination with pure aluminium paste) for rear side metallization. In certain modifications of solar cells Ag-Al paste is also applied to form the back side contact grid. One of the natural tendencies in the photovoltaic industry is a minimal usage of the materials containing hazardous components (Pb, Cd), down to full refusal. The present work has been conducted in accordance with the program on the development of the complete set of "Analog" lead-free pastes for photovoltaic application and contains experimental data on a new Ag-Al paste formulation. Based on the results of this study the new lead free silver aluminium paste PPAS-052 was developed and put into production.
