2~16GHz microwave synthesizer for wideband software defined radio system

摘要

Synthesizers for generation of stabilized frequency signals are required in communications, sensing, and many other fields and applications. In this paper, A dual loop ultra wideband synthesizer is proposed and implemented for a wideband software defined system. The designed synthesizer can operate in the frequency range from 2GHz to 16GHz with the output power more than 16dBm and with spurs less than 50dBc. The frequency step is 1.25MHz for the frequency range of 2~4GHz, 2.5MHz from frequency range of 4~8GHz and 5MHz from frequency range of 8~16GHz. The phase noise is better than −80dBc/Hz @10kHz and −110dBc/Hz @100kHz. The synthesizer is software configurable through self-developed graphical user interface based on micro controller unit (MCU).
