摘要

For modelling, simulation and control of metallurgical reactors and processes various modelling techniques can be applied. In this paper a hybrid modelling architecture is discussed, which comprises of thermodynamics in combination with dynamic modelling. This is discussed with reference to a number of papers by the authors. Reconciled mass (and energy) balance models form the basis, permitting first principle dynamic process models to be calibrated more precisely. Furthermore data reconciliation can act as soft sensor for the estimation of un-mcasurablc data such as accretions as well as zinc metal production in the vapour phase as shown for an industrial Imperial Smelting furnace, the topic of this paper.
