Parts made out of plastic materials have been used traditionally for interior trim parts. Their low weight, pleasant appearance and their forming possibilities in combination with a low price have been the reason of their success. In former days, thermosct polymers have been used, wherever a high stiffness was requested. Their various processing technologies arc usually more expensive than the injection technology as it is used for interior trim parts.
