Several grades have been released from Erasteel recently, increasing the PM steel flora, to makernit easier for our customers to reach peak performance in their applications. Focus has been set notrnonly on the final properties of the material but also on the machinability, e.g. grinding, that hasrnbeen made easier. One good example is ASP2055. Thanks to a refined microstructure, ASP2055rnin a unique way combines good workability with high performance in cutting applications. Anotherrnexample where the final properties have been designed to cover a wide range of applications isrnASP2040, which is a new PM-grade with high nitrogen content. The latter makes this gradernsuitable in cold work applications where adhesive wear is encountered. The development of theserngrades and others, such as BiMax42+, has been made possible thanks to Flexiplant (Erasteel′srnnew powder plant) in S(o)derfors, Sweden.
