Some experimental results obtained on the "Angara-5-1" facility in the investigation of the dynamics of explosion and the output power of the X-ray pulse in a Z-pinch discharge at a current of up to 4 MA are presented. The modified 0-D equations of thin shell implosion are described. The analysis of the experimental current and voltage profiles with the calculated ones enables us to make a conclusion about great importance of the contribution from the ohmic plasma heating of the arrays in the pinch stagnation phase. The impulse of a hard (hv > 20 keV) X-ray emission component of the nested arrays was found to be detected only in the tests where tungsten was used as the outer array material. The value of this hard component does not exceed 10~(-4) of the total X-ray output.
