摘要

The stresses and the strain that occur inside the buttock region during sitting have been computed using a FEM. The computations were done for four different shapes of a seat. The results show that (ⅰ) the deformations inside the body depend on the shape of the seat, (ⅱ) the maximum pressure in the contact area decreases with increasing curvature of the seat, (ⅲ) the shear strain and stress are concentrated on the bone surface.
