Interaction of subtilisin-tuype portease with merino wool fibers

摘要

In order to understand the strucutral modificitons caused by prteolytic enzyms on wool ribers,the interaction of subtiliin -tuype rpotease with Merino wool was stuied by phsicla and physico-chemical tehiques.Enhanced wool dye afinity and opticla microscopy examination indicate increasing fiber damage as function of enzyme action.Scanning electron microscopy suggests preferentil proteolytic attack n the cellular Medmbrane Complex (CMC),a non-cellular and non-keratinic mateila,while no significnat degradation fo cortical and cuticular cells was observed.
