Evironmental problems associated with the operation of belt conveyors

The operation of belt conveyors entails many environmental problems. Belt conveyors are used for transporting large bulks of raw naterials of various fineness thus contributing to the dustiness of the environment. The noise emitted by the power units and the noise generated along the whole belt conveyor route also impact adversely the environent. Worn-out conveyor belts pose another serious environmental problem. These problems and ways of minimizing their harmful effects are presented in this paper.
