For a long time, China's food safety crisis management mainly depends on administrative power since the crisis has happened, but has little effect and the food safety crises still happen continuously. Recently, more scholars have realized that we should not only rely on government to control the crisis but utilize all the social strength to cooperate for food safety crisis has a high incidence and social harm. This paper, from the perspective of social intermediary organization in China, uses government failure, market failure and civil social theories to analyze social intermediary organization's roles on the different periods of food safety crisis and the current situation of its role playing, then proposes that strengthen its participation in food safety crisis, enhance its ability to manage crises and ensure its role to play effectively by analyzing the causes, in order to provide more effective path choices for China's food safety crisis management from different levels.
