摘要

In this work, a practical methodology for the seismic design of critical equipments has been developed. The conditions under which dynamic decoupling between the equipment and the structure is permissible have been derived, and a coupling factor is introduced to measure the decoupling validity witout performing tedious claculations. Using the data of an actual earthquake exciation, the proposed methodology has been examined. It is found that the decoupling is acceptable when the equipment-structure mass ratio is very small, and when the frequency ratio between the equipment subsystem and the structure subsystem is higher than 5, or lower than 0.5.
