Optimization of Composite Processing Using CVI

摘要

The forced flow thermal gradient CVI process is optimized using the process model GTCVI. Within the constraints of the system variables (outside temperature, flowrate and concentration). no true optimum was found. The effect of different weighting factors in the objective function was explored as was changing the inside temperature. Also discussed are the limitations inherent in using the Nextel braided preform and factors to consider when defining the objective function for optimization.
