This paper assesses a short course on 3D-CG application software as a part of graphics education at Otsuma Women's University. Since real CG software is becoming inexpensive, extensive introduction to classrooms can be attained. In the autumn of 2002, graphics education students took a five-week trial course on 3D-CG application software. The course included subjects such as graphic science and geometry. (Another eight weeks of lessons on 3D-CG using Visual BASIC programming etc. were also conducted.) Each week, explanations of the main and accompanying items were given. Every week, the students submitted simple assignments, and a final synthetic assignment was submitted at the end of the course. Some outstanding assignments were submitted. From the results of above investigation, I consider that the five-week course has increased the students' interest in CG, and that they can also master the basic operation of the course software.
