摘要

With an increase in usage amount and operating years of composite insulators, their failures caused by aging increased in number. The 110kV composite insulators in service were studied in this paper, and the electric field distribution along the axial direction of the insulator was calculated by using ANSYS software, which is based on the finite element method (FEM). According to the simulated results, the shed slices of composite insulators were prepared and TSC tests were done on them. The results show that the electric field distribution has great influence on the aging of the shed materials of composite insulators, and the TSC method can obviously indicate the difference of aging state on the shed materials.
