Polymeric nanoparticles stabilized with covalent linkage, especially those with functional groups synchronously, have attracted extensive attention in recent years owing to their potential applications in large scope of fields. Till now, polysaccharide-based nanoparticles was prepared mainly by the self-assembly of polysaccharide-polyester amphiphilic copolymers, the process is comparatively complicated. Herein by giving dextran and hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) as typical examples, we describe a facile approach to fabricate polysaccharide-based nanoparticles containing carboxy functional groups, and investigated the relative properties of resultant nanoparticles.
