RESISTIVITY METHOD FOR EXAMINATION OFTHE URBAN UNDERGROUND UTILITIES

The asphalt coat and the high level electrical noise eliminate application of theresistivity method and conventional instrumentation under the urban conditions. The originallydeveloped electrometric system 'ERA' and the measurement technique for electrically isolatingroad coat permit to overcome a number of problems associated with application of the resitivitymethod for municipal service. The proposed innovative technology is an adequate competitor tothe widely used ground penetrating radar technology. Some examples of examination of watersupply pipelines are presented in this paper.
