Abstract: High performance phase screens are essential for the focal- plane irradiance profile control in laser-fusion system. A new global/local united search algorithm is presented for constructing continuous phase screens to eliminate the wide- angle scattering. The focal-plane intensity profile fits a 16th-order flat-top super-Gaussian function. More than 98.5% of the incident energy is homogeneously constrained in the desired region. The wide-angle scattering outside $phi 1 mm in focal plane of focus spots is less than 0.5% of the incident energy.!5
