Acoustically active liposomes havernbeen developed for drug encapsulation andrnultrasound-controlled release. Up to 20% of thernfluorescent dye, calcein (as a drug stand-in) wasrnencapsulated with retention of high acousticrnactivity. Ultrasound stimulation (1 MHz, 2W/cm2,rn10 s) released 1/3 of contents; 2/3 was releasedrnwith six such ultrasound applications.
