PIROXICAM ENCAPSULATED IN LIPOSOMES: CHARACTERIZATION AND IN-VITRO EVALUATION OFLIPOSOMAL GELS

Multilamellar (MLV) and small unilamellar (SUV)rnliposomes containing piroxicam were prepared.rnCarbopol 940 was used to prepare the gels. Thernrelease of the drug through a semi permeablernsynthetic membrane by a new diffusion cells wasrndetermined. The types of liposomes influenced therndrug release from the different gels. The SUVrnliposomal gels release its drug content faster thanrnhydrogel and MLV liposomal gels.
