Preparation of phospholipid cholesterol ester microemulsionsfor cellular nutrition and drug delivery

Two different methods for the preparation ofnanometer sized lipid microemulsions havebeen investigated. A solvent evaporationmethod provides the smallest particles althoughinitial sizes are influenced by lipid composition.The microemulsions are capable of supportingU937 proliferation indicating that they may besuitable for lipid supplementation and drugdelivery.
