ACTIVITIES OF UNICAMP AND PETROBRAS REGARDING THE UNDERWATER WORK COVERED BY THE GERMAN-BRAZILIAN COOPERATION

Approximately 67% of Brazilian oil production come from offshore fields. The exploitation of oil and gas reserves offshore progressing to greater water depths directs to the need for developments towards the automation of underwater techniques. The University of Campinas, in a cooperative program with GKSS Research Center and PETROBRAS, is carrying out a R&D program on Robotics, for automated subsea work. This paper presents the main results of this research project.
