摘要

The amorphous TbFeCo magnetic-optical thin films are r.f. -magnetron sputtered onto glass substrate. The light rare earth neodymium (Nd) has been introduced into these TbFeCo alloys in an attempt to increase the intrinsic polar Kerr rotation. Magneto-optical characteristics of these films are measured and the influences of composition on magneto-optical properties of the amorphous films are investigated. Results show that Magneto-optical characteristics of films have been improved with some Nd content in the new films. The Kerr angle of the amorphous TbFeCoNd thin film is 0.47°, and coercivity Hc is 4 274Oe.However, the deterioration of magneto-optical characteristics is also shown to be a result of more Nd substitution.
