PVC; we all know it today as one of the major plastic resins used in the building and construction industry, However, when one considers the main applications, pipe, siding, window profiles, it is not obvious that the concept of art immediately comes to mind. But in a way, there is a strong association of art and PVC in this market, And this paper takes a look at this connection.rnRecently the Konstoff Museum in Troisdorf, Germany, looked into one of the key events in the history of PVC in building and construction, the development of the first PVC window profile, which occurred 50 years ago in 1954. One of the most intriguing aspects is who actually developed the first profile; it was done by scientists in the laboratories of Dynamit Nobel. Celebration of the 50 year anniversary resulted in the production of a video documenting the history of this development through interviews with the actual scientists involved.
