This paper demonstrates the use of a holistic vehicle thermal model for crew/passenger compartment heat load analysis in a virtual environment. The model includes all energy sources: environment, power train, exhaust, electronics, and personnel. Results and the modeling process are presented for a military combat vehicle. Priority of energy sources is scenario dependent. Analysis results demonstrate cabin air temperature dependence on the environmental conditions during low electronics load. For electronics loads 8000W and higher the environmental variables do not factor significantly. A discussion of cabin air temperature as a function of ambient temperature, solar load, and electronics load, is presented.
