摘要

This paper reports the initial results from an extensive study on the non-linear behaviour of piping elbows of various geometric configurations subject to in-plane and out-of-plane bending and internal pressure. Specifically the standard Rodabaugh & George non-linear pressure reduction equations for in-plane closing moment are checked in a systematic study against non-linear finite element analysis, apparently for the first time in the modern literature.
