Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers for the Optical Network

摘要

High performance, low polarization sensitivity semiconductor optical amplifier based on mixed strained multiquantum wells active material has been realized. Fiber to fiber gain as large as 20dB with polarization sensitivity less than 1.0dB are achieved for a component of 450mum-long cavity with carefully designed AR coating on both facets.
