Wide field of view, wide spectral band off-axis helmet-mounted display optical design

摘要

This paper describes some basic principles associated with the optical design of an ultra-wide field of view, wide spectral band off-axis helmet-mounted display (HMD). To simplify the HMD optics, diffractive optical element and /or plastic lenses are employed. Several design examples are given to illustrate the design principles.
