China is becoming one of the important members in the global oil market. At present, China is the largest crude oil producer in the Asian and Pacific Region. The output of crude oil in China has reached about ISO million tons per year, which ranks China the fifth in the world. The crude oil processing industry in China has also been growing rapidly. The total refinery capacity reached almost 200 million tons per year by the end of 1995. And it plays a significant role in China's national economy.
