Evaluating Emission Factors and Inventories Using PAMS

This paper discusses opportunities for improving the emissions estimates of Ozone precursors by reconcling them with Photochemical Air Monitoring System (PAMS) and similar data. It shold provide the impetus for allocating resources to PAMS data analysis (and field studies to supplement the PAMS data base) so that emission inventories can be improved. Such analyses and studies can reveal missing sources or suggest improvements to the spatial or temporal resolution of the emissions inventory. They can also determine the need for better emission factors or activity inputs to emission models or factors.
