A series of new tools are now available for the educationalrnarena. Drastic changes in learning approaches havernlong been predicted, so far without the expected impact inrnschools or universities. Teachers have key roles here. Inrnorder to enhance their competence there are at least twornangles of attack:rn1. integration of new tools and learning environmentrnthroughout the initial teacher educationrn2. professional development of teachers through inservicernand further education for educators at allrnlevelsrnThese strategies are important since tools andrnmethods are changing and expanding. Focus should be onrnpedagogy and methodology, integrating technology intorncurriculum for better learning. Experiences from a teacherrneducation institution with integrated ICT for all studentsrnand an option to a master’s programme for ICT inrnLearning are outlined in the paper.rnOnline courses for in-service and upgrading ofrnteachers, particularly aiming at university and collegernstaff, including teacher trainers, have been tested in arnglobal setting. This set of two courses at master’s level,rnnamed E-teaching I and E-teaching II, awarding 10 + 10rnECTS credits, has turned out to be a great success, and isrnpresented here.
