The current transport mechanism of transparent anode in Gate Commutated Thyristor (GCT) was analyzed theoretically, and its correct ness is validated by the simulation of its switching characteristic. In addition, the doping concentration and thickness of the transparent anode are optimized based on analysis of the on-state characteristic of asymmetry GCT.
