Quantitative imaging of molecular order in lipid membranes using two-photon fluorescence polarimetry

Complex molecular orders in heterogeneous Giant Unilamellar Vesicle as well as cell membranes are investigated using polarization resolved two-photon fluorescence microscopy. This method provides local structural information that cannot be achievable using traditional anisotropy measurements.
