Rapid identification of seven inner packaging materials by NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy

Seven kinds of inner packaging materials, clear polyvinyl chloride (PVC), opaque PVC, polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC), polychlorotrifluorothylene (Aclar PCTFE), Aclar PCTFE /PVC 2000 composite packaging material, cold form Al/polyethylene (PE) composite packaging material, and Al /paper/ PE composite packaging material, were rapidly identified by NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy.16 batches of samples for each packaging material were collected, in which 14 batches of samples were used to develop the model, and 2 batches of samples were used for validation. In the range of 4000~9000 cm -1 ,analytical model of seven inner packaging materials was constructed using first derivative with 9 points smoothing and scaling to first range analysis. All groups can be uniquely identified with developed analysis model. The selectivities between groups were more than 2, and the misclassified probability of unknown fourteen samples was 0%. Compared with other qualification method, this method is simple and fast because the sample prepare is not required. So this method is very suitable for rapid identification for storage and produce.
