The Cost of Failure

No two incidents are identical and it is extremely difficult to predict the costs associated with any incident. While the majority of cost data included in this paper is based on estimates and is inherently "soft," it makes clear that the costs associated with a significant incident are staggering. Major incidents directly impact the lives of employees, their families, the surrounding community, and cost tens of millions of dollars to resolve. In other words, the cost of failure is simply too high.
