In this paper, we present Cellular Automata (CA) based conflict resolution in Role-based Access Control (RBAC). In RBAC, delegation of role is necessary for scalability of general computing environments. However, this practical principle can lead to conflicts at compile time and run time. Thus we propose a policy for Separation of Duty (SoD), and demonstrate role-delegation without any conflicts. Our delegation scheme based on a special class of CA such as Multiple-Attractor CA (MACA) can be efficiently used for granting strategy in complex automatic system within RBAC.
