Introduction of IP-based core network in 3rd generation mobile system and future trends

摘要

This paper describes NTT DoCoMo's plan to incorporate IP technology in mobilernnetworks. NTT DoCoMo's position is based on current demand and future forecastsrnfor growth in data traffic.rnBased on core strategies including multimedia, ubiquity and globalization, data trafficrndemand is expected to by 2010 grow to about 70 times current levels. For thatrnreason, through adoption of IP technology for the core network and accessrnsegments as early as possible, realization of a high speed, reduced cost network isrnattempted.
