摘要

A numerical simulation code for the two-dimensional incompressible viscous flow using the Navier-Stokes equations has been developed to investigate bridge aerodynamic/aeroelastic characteristics. The numerical algorithm is based on themethod of pseudocompressibility and uses an implicit upwind scheme. The code was validated using well-known laminar flow test cases: the two-dimensional steady flow in a square driven cavity at a high Reynolds number, the transient flow behind an impulsively started circular cylinder, and the flow over a circular cylinder with vortex shedding. Finally, the flow over the Great Belt East Bridge cross section was numerically simulated, as an application to the bridge aerodynamics. Computed static force coefficients were compared with the measurements from the wind-tunnel experiment conducted at DMI.
