Increasing evidence and theory suggest intra-cellular information processing occurs as dynamic physical activities of microtubules and other structures. Verification of such a proposed communication system-microtubules as classical computers-would be a major breakthrough in cell biology and cognitive science. However investigation of the nature of consciousness suggests that even such an astounding discovery would not be the complete stroy, and that biological systems are somehow connected to the most basic level of the universe.
