IMPROVEMENT OF CAMPAIGN LIFE OF NO.1RH LOWER VESSEL IN KAKOGAWA WORKS

After the start of No.3RH operation, the service conditions have greatly changed, and the campaign life of the lower vessel decreased in No.1RH. Countermesures were quickly taken to improve the RH refractories, repairing frequency, bottom brick material and expansion allowances, and deformation of the bottom shell was controlled. With these improvements, wear of the problem parts decreased and sudden shut down by troubles has been reduced.
