A new polymeric additive for primerless paintable bumper fascia

In this paper, we will disclose a new polymeric material for primerless paintable polypropylene compounds. Most of the bumper fascia is made from polypropylene compounds. Polypropylene is a well-known non-polar polymer, so we need adhesion promoter when we coat the surface with general paints. A new polymeric additive was synthesized and it is added to polypropylene compound. The polypropylene compound was molded into bumper fascia and coated without primer coat The quality and reliability of the coat was evaluated by several methods.
