In this paper we propose ways to better understand the term information and its relationship to data andknowledge not by looking at the problem from an information science perspective but from what might bedescribed as a modern science one. We will look at experiments such as the double slit experiment (DSE), theEinstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) experiment and important ideas derived from special relativity theory that webelieve shed new light on the notion of information. Together these ideas can help us better understand theterms data, information, and knowledge and the relationships among them.
