摘要

A new construction control method using cone penetration test and bathymetric survey was developed. A case study is presented, which applying the newly developed method for an airport-island constructed on soft ground improved by sand drain. This paper shows that gain in undrained shear strength and degree of consolidation of the improved ground during construction is accurately evaluated by the cone penetration test. Also described are thickness and load of sand fill, settlement of the ground and consolidation characteristics at the site obtained by utilizing bathymetry data.
