摘要

The main purpose of a breakwater existing normally on a harbor is to maintain harbor tranquility for ships to moor safely. However, on the other hand, this type of breakwater blocks sea water exchange from the outside of harbor which leads to the cause of sluggishness. Recently, many tend to install water exchange breakwater in order to improve this kind of water pollution in harbor. Hydraulic experiment and numerical simulation are mostly used to verify the efficiency of water exchange breakwater. But there are very few field investigation cases of the efficiency of water exchange breakwater. In this research, external wave height and incoming flow velocity of sea water were examined so as to grasp the effectiveness of water exchanging breakwater installled in the local sea. The result came out to verify hydraulic characteristics and ability of water exchange breakwater installed on the local sea. Also numerical simulation using inflow rate from. the field experiment was made to assess performance of water exchange breakwater.
