The liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data of two 1,3-dialkylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate + 1-butanol systems were adapted to a laser-scattering technique for measuring mutual solubility curves developed in our laboratory. We have made detailed measurements of the cloud points for 1-buthyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([BMIM][PF6]), and 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([HMIM][PF6]) + 1-butanol systems up to the upper critical solution temperature (UCST) using this technique. Experimental solubility data were also correlated with two activity coefficient models: NRTL and Tsuboka-Katayama's modification of the Wilson equation (T-K-Wilson).
