Effects of different organic group on Cement Grinding Process

The use of cement grinding aids on cement grinding process is an important approach on raising the grinding efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and achieving the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of cement industry. But the lack of researching on the mechanism of grinding aids on the cement grinding process limited the using of grinding aids in cement industry. In this paper, several organic groups which were frequently present in grinding aids were chosen and the effects of different organic group on cement grinding process were studied also. The results show that: organic substances containing alcohol amine group are superior to those containing hydroxyl group and sulfuric acid group on raising cement grinding efficiency. For organic substances with hydroxyl group, the grinding efficiency is decreasing with the increasing length of carbon chain, and it increasing while increasing hydroxyl group. For organic substances with alcohol amine group, with the number of hydroxyethyl group increasing, cement flow property is improved, but the specific surface is decreased. Organic substances with sulphonate group have neglectful effect on cement grinding efficiency.
