Development of a large class size internet management tool in the Open Learning Institute of Hong Kong

In conclusion, the application development of WWW as class management tools both in teaching and learning environments will result in a great step forward in distance education. This deployment of "Cutting edge" technology will break many traditional barriers as outlined above. Students can be more engaged or "plugged in" directly with the CC and other resources that are restrained by time and place. The On-line class management/ support system will be a "gold mine of valuable information" that can enrich students' learning and give them confidence in using this new information technology in the coming ages. This developmental system will herald a new paradigm of a "World-wide Electronic University" which may lead to a new electronic classroom, library and wider access, culminating in a cost-effective higher education.
