Study on Demolition of Giant Water Tower with Low Center of Gravity

摘要

This paper has studied the Demolition of the giant water tower by a typical engineering example. Its demolition is particularly difficult because of the low gravity center, big diameter and strong reinforced concrete structure. The paper introduced the water tower demolition design, the special handling measurements with new ideas and the effects of engineering in detail. The mechanical principles and safety checking have also been discussed and analyzed. Especially, some new handle measurements have not been reported according to documents before the paper.
